Joe Bonamassa Blues Guitar Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA


The Joe Bonamassa BluesGuitarScholarship, (sponsored by the Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation) was created to promote and preserve theheritageof bluesmusic, and to directly encourage and support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Guitar Program student atMusicians Institute.

The scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2013 to a new student (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Guitar) program who demonstrates overall outstanding musicianship, and the potential for developing their own individual sound or unique voice on the instrument in theBlues style.

The Joe Bonamassa Blues Guitar Scholarship

The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the AA Guitar performance program only, and may not be transferred to "non- performance program" emphases (Audio Engineering, MusicBusiness, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft, or Film) within an AAdegree.


Award
$3,000.00 tuition credit ($1,000.00 per quarter for the first three consecutive quarters of the program as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory progress). Two tickets and VIP backstage "meet and greet" to a future Joe Bonamassa concert (date/time TBD) are also included in the award package.

Eligibility and Conditions
Newly-enrolled AA (Guitar) students only. US citizen and non-US citizen. Awardee must maintain enrollment at 12 units (fulltime status) during the full length of award period. Failure to maintain enrollment and satisfactory academic progress in AA (Guitar) program for the full duration of the scholarship may result in withdrawal of the award.

How ToApply
Complete a Joe Bonamassa Blues Guitar Scholarship application (see application download instructions below).
Provide the completed application form including:

VIDEO RECORDING
Submit a video recording (DVD format only) of you performing three (3) songs in the Blues genre on the electric and/or acoustic guitar. Applicants are required to include two (2) live ensemble (band or duo) performances, and one (1) guitar solo performance.

Application Deadline
For programs beginning: Spring 2013
Submit application by:March 1, 2013
